BYSA COVID-19 Protocol

Currently, BYSA's primary organizational objective to to get our kids safely back to play! In order to get and keep players on the field, the following COVID-19 protocol has been enacted. By cooperating with this protocol you are doing your part to help keep BYSA operating.

Section 1: All Participants

1) LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT RELATING TO COVID-19" form prior to participating in any BYSA activities. Steps to complete:

  - Bring to first practice and give to your coach prior to your player participating in practice. If you miss the first practice, return it prior to participating in your first BYSA activity of the season.

! Coaches are required to collect a hard copy of this form for all players and have been Instructed not to let players participate until this form is complete.

! Please do not attempt to email or text message the form.

! If you do not have access to a printer, please see your coach for alternate instructions.

2) By participating in BYSA activities, all participants (players, coaches, referees) agree to adhere to this protocol.

3) The BYSA Board reserves the right to remove any participant who does not adhere to any part of this protocol.

4) The BYSA Board reserves the right to modify this protocol at any time. While BYSA will make a good faith effort to notify participants when the protocol changes, it is the participants responsibility to review this protocol regularly.

5) No participant or spectator is to attend a BYSA gathering if any of the following are true.

The participant or spectator:
- Has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days
- Is awaiting a COVID-19 test result
- Has in the last 10 days been notified that they have had contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
- Has in the last 10 days traveled internationally to a CDC Level 2 or higher COVID-19 related travel health notice country
- Has in the last 10 days traveled to a state that does not border New York
- Has, or in the last 10 days has had any of the following symptoms:
    - A temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
    - Feel feverish or have chills
    - Cough
    - Loss of taste or smell
    - Fatigue/feeling or tiredness
    - Sore throat
    - Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
    - Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
    - Muscle pain or body aches
    - Headaches
    - Nasal congestion/runny nose

6) All participants agree to follow their local or state guidelines for contract tracing and quarantine requirements.

Section II: Additional Protocol for Spectators (Practice and Game Days)

1) Practice social distancing of at least six feet from those you do not live with. To facilitate this we recommend two spectators per player.

2) In accordance with NY code 66-3.2 any person who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance. This will include all players, coaches, parents, and spectators at all BYSA events. Face-coverings shall include, but are not limited to, cloth masks (e.g. homemade sewn, quick cut, bandana), surgical masks, and N-95 respirators.

3) Any spectator(s) in violation of protocol may be asked to comply and/or leave the fields immediately.

Section III: Additional Protocol for Players and Coaches (Practice and Game Days)

1) Players and coaches must socially distance in the bench area. 

2) Face coverings are required during participation. Referees may penalize teams when players are not adhering.

3) "Mask breaks" are appropriate in the bench area when social distancing (6ft) is being practiced. 

4) No handshake or "high five" lines at the end of games (although thumbs up and verbal "good game" are highly encouraged!).

5) No hands in for a "1, 2, 3 GO TEAM" at the end of the games. Teams are encouraged to find fun, creative, respectful, and socially distant way to celebrate.
