We wanted to let you know what will be going on the next few weeks. Here are some important dates below:
· Next weekend (2/6 & 2/7) we will be holding player evaluations as well as our orientation meeting for the 3/4 age group.
· The week of 2/8, the coaches will conduct their team drafts.
· Your coach should contact you by February 11th, to let you know practice schedules, and other important information. If you have not heard from a coach by this date, please email us @ southcherokeebaseball@gmail.com.
· Practices will begin the weekend of Feb. 13th.
· Opening day for spring is March 5th.
For all age groups (5/6, 7/8, 9/10) your evaluation time is determined by your child's playing age and the first letter of their last name. (** This is the age your child will be on 4/29/16, not necessarily their age today**) Your league's times are listed below. Please be mindful and arrive during your time window. This will help us keep on schedule. If you arrive before your time slot, please be patient as we may need to ask you to wait.
**Change from seasons past, all players will check in at the picnic tables, by the concession stand before going to their field. When you check in, you have the opportunity to try on uniform pants and shirts and adjust the sizes you choose if necessary. This will be the only chance to change sizes.
A few notes for Player Evaluations:
Expect to be at the park for about an hour for evaluations. It is very important that they players attend. This process gives the head coaches an opportunity to take a look at all potential players. This also ensures we have balanced and competitive teams in each league. We will give each player a chance to hit, throw, field and catch. Please make sure they are dressed appropriately, and if you have it, bring their Glove, Bat, Helmet, Cleats, Bag, etc. If you are a new player and are unsure about what equipment to purchase, our coaches can help you. We will have bats there that you can use as well.
3/4 Meeting -
This will be your chance to do the following:
· Meet your Teams Coach
· Meet a few South Cherokee Board Members
· Get details about Spring Season, Equipment, Q&A, etc.
· Try on shirt and pants and make sure uniform sizes are correct. (Only chance to do this!)

3-4 Age Group Orientation:
· The orientation will be held at the pavilion by the concession stand (back left side of middle/main parking lot- look for balloons).
· We will split uniform fitting in order to keep people from waiting for too long with their kids.
· Last name A-N *please arrive at 10:00am and check in at the uniform table BEFORE the orientation to fit uniforms.
· Last name M-Z *please arrive at 10:30am and stay after meeting to check in and fit uniforms.
· Meeting will start at 10:30am
· It’s important that before you leave, you have checked in and confirmed your uniform sizes. This will be your only chance.
